I teach special education math to about 24 students. I love my students because they bring different challenges to the classroom as we all become different learners of math. Our classroom becomes one big family where all of our life problems are put aside and learning becomes the focus.
My students love spending time on activities and projects where they can demonstrate what they have learned.
These students perform better when learning is a tactile activity and they can put what they have learned into practice. The more interactive learning becomes in the classroom the more they understand the topics that we are exploring.
The materials for the game board will allow the students to properly create games based on math topics we have covered during the year. This item will help the student become more organized and they will not have to stress about obtain materials on their own. Students have struggled in the past in getting what they envision for the game that they have created.
These games will be further used in years to come with future classes when covering the topics to help promote a more active learning experience in class.
By creating games revolving around math concepts it creates a visual learning space for the students who have challenges when learning mathematics.
