Persistent. Hardworking. Spirited. Innovative. These words describe the students at my school. As 5th grade students, they are excited to leave their mark on the world.
No matter what, I believe all students deserve a top-notch education.
We are an inclusion classroom that values and accepts peers for who they are. Each year I welcome the relationships we create in our room that last well beyond the year they are with me. They make me a better teacher with their questions, interest, and passion. I want to provide students with the tools and resources that help them to be successful.
My Project
Attending Jen Jones’ Hello Literacy Conference will help me learn from one of the country’s top experts in reading instruction. My goal is to increase my teaching delivery and effectiveness with my students so that they can receive the best instruction possible. This conference will give me the tools to help my students continue to be successful once they leave my classroom. I will be learning how to use powerful, research-based ideas to meet the individual needs of all students while developing critical thinkers through different low prep/high yield strategies. I know that from this conference I will come back as a better prepared, more confident reading teacher. With those skills in hand, I will be more beneficial to my students’ success.
