Creating Future Meteorologist

My students need a sophisticated weather station and individual weather tools. We learn about tools that meteorologist use to predict approaching storms. We study every type of severe weather and learn how each affects the Earth.

My Students

I teach at a phenomenal school with students who are pumped about learning! My students are energetic learners who are discovering a love for reading and exploration! I never forget how lucky I am to be able to teach such wonderful students in a close-knit community.

To me RE feels more like a family than just a school & I believe our students feel cherished and truly supported.

We are a Title l school, where 75% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. My students are faced with so many challenges both in and out of school; I want to give them every opportunity I can!

Literacy is a huge focus in my classroom because I believe reading opens a door to all other areas that interest my kids! They are reading & learning about topics that interest them to keep them motivated & eager to learn. I believe my true job is to spark their love of learning.

My Project

Students will be able to broaden their knowledge by monitoring variables such as temperatures, wind, rainfall, atmospheric pressure and humidity. They will be able to learn about threats such as approaching storms.

422 students will benefit from this technology.

The station will be placed in our courtyard. The weather information will be sent wirelessly to the display that will be mounted in our front lobby. The data gathered from the weather station will be available for every class in the school to take advantage of.

The individual tools will be used in our second-grade classrooms for demonstrations and small weather experiments.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
