I need a ticket to attend this two day conference so that I can experience educational magic and create dynamic lessons that will challenge my students.
My students are hardworking, diverse, lifelong learners. It is our mission at DCES to enable all students to become contributing members in a global society empowered with skills, knowledge, and values necessary to meet the challenges of a changing world.
My students and I have created a classroom community where they know we are a family when they walk in and out of my classroom every day.
We want our students to be empowered and have opportunities that are authentic to them.
A large portion of our student's lives are with their extended families or in single parent homes. We have a high bilingual and immigrant population at our school. All of our students receive free breakfast, lunch, and bus rides. Because our students live and go to school in such a high poverty area, they do not have ample opportunities to go out and explore the world around them. As teachers, our job is to make sure that we not only teach students curriculum, but how to be a good citizens, as well. Poverty and hardship are not obstacles that my students let get in their way. They come to school each day with an insatiable thirst for knowledge.
My Project
The presenters in this conference will share their passion and enthusiasm for education with educators from around the world. They will contribute resources, best practices, and teacher secrets with me so that I am able to build a successful and engaging classroom. Lastly, this conference will allow me to collaborate with other educators throughout the world on what their doing in their classroom and what is working best for their students.
Attending this conference will enable me to better serve and meet my students where they are.
This conference will empower and motivate me to be the best teacher I can be for my students.
