Creating Diversity in the Classroom
Help me give my students the best books in store please and thank you!
My students are very special to me. They always rise to each challenge that is placed before them. We are a loving class community that encourages each other to do better. I teach them how to respect each other and themselves. I teach them how to be proud of their work and compliment their fellow brother or sister in the classroom. Each morning we start the day with by singing “This Little Light of Mine.” Afterwards, they take turns telling someone in the class how they will let their light shine. During the day, you can hear them say to each other “Are you letting your light shine.” Real love in Room 506!
This will add to my class. My students will be able to learn more about each other’s history. This will be a great opportunity for them to gain a different perspective on other people’s heritage, race, culture, and much more. They will be able to have questions answered that they may not feel comfortable asking. I believe that this is the time now, do start those difficult conversations and give them practical examples that they will be able l digest. These books will give all students a new outlook on others.
