My students are eager to learn, creative, and come excited to learn each day. They work so well together and constantly cheer each other on.
Our reading class is like a family.
We love to practice our stamina reading, suggest new books to each other, and discuss our favorite books. Reading is a big part of what brings us together. During our novel studies, I have to remind the kids to not read ahead! Our class loves to explore various books to gain new knowledge.
My Project
Fourth grade students spend the majority of their year focusing on non-fiction text. Typically students are not interested when they hear the word "non-fiction." I want to help change students views and expose them to a variety of interesting books that are non-fiction.
This package includes a variety of books, in which, every reader can find a book that fascinates them.
The books range from text about animals, weather, robots, and significant people in history.
Additionally, forth graders study historical fiction this year. The package includes books that can help students understand what life was like in the time period they are reading about, and also enjoy an interesting story. My goal is to have students have a passion for reading in all genres.
