My classroom is unique, and I teach a life skills class. Each of my students is gifted in their own beautiful ways. My students have learning difficulties, but they are amazing, incredible learners.
Our classroom is set up differently than most classrooms to better meet the needs of our students.
In my classroom, we do stations so that my students are in very small groups. In this way, we are better able to meet the needs of each learner.
My Project
My amazing students benefit from hands-on crafts. As we work on our weekly theme, we often have a craft or two to support student learning and promote interest. In order to facilitate crafts, my class needs a few extra supplies. Small paper plates would be helpful, as they would allow students to make characters from the stories we read, and seasonal items like pumpkins.
Duct tape can be used to secure projects together, as well as to mark areas of the room for students who have issues staying in their own area.
My students enjoy coloring our crafts, and we sort our crayons based on color, so a box of presorted crayons would be highly beneficial.
My students often use tissue paper to make crafts to help with their fine motor skills. Glitter is a favorite of my students; they love to enhance their art with sparkles! Having a new set of colorful glitter would be so helpful. In my classroom, we often make crafts that we sell for fundraisers, so having hot glue sticks to build our crafts would be amazing.
