My Project
Math manipulatives are tools that give students hands-on experiences to support conceptual understanding of math concepts. Using unifix cubes allows students to conceptualize math problems and develop number sense. It is vital for our students to have concrete experiences with unifix cubes to support concrete, pictorial, abstract progression in math.
The unifix cubes I am requesting will help students understand concepts, build confidence in their abilities, and create adults who successfully use their math knowledge to be successful.
Unifix cubes will support students in learning addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and graphing. Unifix cubes are the most widely used math manipulative and can be used for just about any mathematical practice.
Using math manipulatives makes learning math more concrete for students. They provide scaffolding to interpret and solve math problems at all levels. Students in all grade levels will benefit from using unifix cubes to prove, justify, show, and explain their thinking. All students can experience success in reasoning and communicating math concepts through working with manipulatives.
