As a speech language pathologist, my job includes much more than just fixing sounds. I help these students communicate in many different ways including the use of AAC devices, understanding language, expressing themselves, social cognitive skills, and more. I service kids in preschool through fifth grade with a wide range of abilities and limitations.
My goal is to teach children the power of communication!
Communication unlocks limitless opportunities. When children understand what communication can do for them, they truly begin to flourish.
My Project
My project is designed to improve my ability to create customized materials to address the wide variety of individual goals for each of my students. Additionally, I have many students who are nonverbal. Those students require low-tech communication systems (Picture Exchange) in order to communicate their wants a needs. A color printer and laminator will give me the ability to create high quality and durable pictures that can be used by students to communicate.
Your donation will be used to unlock a whole new world to students and give them the power to communicate.
With a color printer and laminator, there are endless possibilities to create materials to be used in therapy sessions and in the student's day to day communication needs.
The project also includes which will increase my ability to communicate with my students families.
