My third-grade students are an amazing, creative, and energetic group of individuals. They all come to school excited to experience success and are ready to learn. We work together to create a classroom environment that is inclusive and safe for everyone. They are passionate about protecting our Earth, making a difference, and enjoy learning new skills.

Our school has free lunch for everyone. That is a huge gift! My third graders work really hard each day no matter what life is like at home.
My Project
Each day my students work hard. They are expected to stay focused and cooperate. My third graders need time and space to take a break from each other when they feel stress or discomfort before they will shut down from learning. I would like to create a calm corner with the requested items that is a safe space for them to go for a break-to read, write, color, and BREATHE for 5-10 minutes!! This will give them the opportunity to regroup, restart, reflect, and resume success in their day! This space will be a place they want to go before losing control. Promoting social-emotional growth is essential in all aspects of the children’s schedule.
