"Our students will become active leaders who take pride in their community..." Our vision strongly aligns with our physical activity program in our school community. Our students are curious, ambitious, courageous, and inventive. They know that in order to become leaders in our community, they must follow first. That's why implementing a program before, during, and after school is key to creating awareness and opportunity for physical activity in our community.
All of our students will be transformed to physical activity leaders in their community.
Our population is mostly Latino in a community where families are driven and passionate about education. Parents share their children with us to guide them and give them the proper tools to transform their lives as leaders in the community we serve.
As physical activity leaders, our students will hold our community accountable by staying active at all times. As they "follow", they will learn how to lead physical activities for peers and parents, "coach" younger students, create video tutorials of skills and activities, conduct brain breaks in classrooms, and become strong advocates for physical activity.
My Project
We live in a world where students get motivated through technology. That's why our students will use a Fitbit to measure their physical activity in and out of school. This is the first step towards creating awareness and opportunities for physical activity is to give our students ideas on how to stay active outside of school.
In physical education class, students learn how to stay active and outside of school they demonstrate their knowledge.
That's why when using these activity trackers, they will be even more motivated to move at home. Our students will use fitness logs, participate in fitness challenges, and keep track of their progress.
