My Students
This is a year of changes for me, a new school, a new content area, and a new way of teaching. I am excited to start this new year teaching Art for the first time after teaching Math for many years and I'm happy to meet my new students. I know from learning about the school that the community is similar to my old school community, loving, caring, supportive, but also in need of resources.
I want to give these students a great opportunity to experience Art even through distance learning!
My Project
As teachers we still really don't know what the year to come will look like for students, but I know I want to do my best to make sure students have some materials to start with when we are allowed back at school. These items will also be helpful for me to use during distance learning to model for students.
I believe that creating artwork during this time will be a great way to be able to help students work through how they're feeling and give them much needed brain breaks.
Our students also deserve materials that will allow them to see themselves through the artwork they create, which is why I have added the multicultural paints and markers.
