My Students

We are 4th-grade students from Springville, Utah. We are a small, close-knit community. Most of us are close enough to walk to school. We have played soccer, football, participated in gymnastics and participated in play productions with each other throughout the years.

We are like family.

We have stayed strong through the current COVID-19 pandemic. We have dealt with frustration, confusion, loneliness, illnesses. We have found new ways of learning, understanding, and coping with our new way of life. We have looked to each other for strength and held each other up even though we know we are behind academically and socially, we are strong and perseverant.

We are writers that have written about ourselves and created slideshows about our unique and loveable personalities. We are readers and have gathered information and written about our favorite Utah animals like moose and the Black-footed Ferret as well as written about famous Americans like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We are savvy with computers and have learned how to use Google to make slideshows for presentations. We are artists that have learned about artists like Van Gogh and Monet and used those examples to create masterpieces.

My Project

Each one of us is unique. We have different experiences. Some of us immerse ourselves in reading, letting our imaginations take us to many times, places, and experiences. For these students, various books about our state, Utah, books about artists, or books for fun would provide a healthy outlet to deal with the pandemic. Some students release their creativity and imagination into drawing, painting, and coloring. Art supplies from this project will help students find a place or project to help them through current COVID issues. Some students like to write or express themselves through technology like with slideshows or taking pictures of the beauty we see around us in these trying times. All of the items on this list can help students dive into their creative sides and help, heal, and encourage growth.
