Whole group instruction does not provide differentiation and individualized learning for my scholars, who range from emergent readers to fluent, chapter-book readers. Small group instruction, with practice on technology usage, will maximize the learning for these scholars who are eager to learn.
My students hail from diverse backgrounds, from "military brats" to longshoremen offspring, to families who have lived in the neighborhood of our school community for decades.
Because of this, our school is considered a transient school with many students coming in and out, based on where their parents need to be. This causes inconsistency in their learning, and often the students suffer and lose out on the learning. Nevertheless, they are eager to work together and learn, absorb what's happening in the classroom, and yearn to belong. Providing these scholars with consistent small group instruction, with this technology component, will enhance their learning and maximize each learning minute individualized to each student's specific needs. They will benefit greatly with the usage of technology in the classroom environment on a daily basis.
In this project, our classroom is asking for basic classroom art supplies to make help hone our creativity even more and make our learning more fun, colorful, and creative. We are asking for markers, crayons, tempera paint, paint brushes, pencils, and dry erase markers in order to create more meaningful and creative art projects relevant to our Language Arts, Math, and Science focus.
When color is added to our learning, we are able to be make it more fun and creative, also making the learning even more memorable.
These materials will hone our creative juices and allow us to take ownership of our hard work and creations. We hope that when we use these materials, we become more confident in our hard work and creativity.
