Creating an Obstacle Course Craze Adapted P.E. Students Love!
Help me give my students these necessary pieces of equipment to use in our coordination and obstacle course lessons with the poly spot markers and portable balance beam. Additionally, the Sportime Success balls help students catch and throw!
Hello! I love my job as a K-12 adapted physical education teacher. I teach whole class and one on one sessions for students in special education that have motor deficits. I provide individualized and specialized instruction to help students increase their motor skills and abilities so they can better access and succeed in the general physical education curriculum with her same-aged peers.
Students absolutely love coming to adapted P.E.
class with Coach S! In my class, students have fun and learn various motor skills that help them become proficient movers and learners. My students are energetic, hard-working, confident! It is my greatest joy to watch my students advance their skills and grow a love for physical activity.
My Project
I specifically chose obstacle course materials to use in obstacle course lesson to build body awareness and coordination. Also, the Successballs were picked to use in throwing and catching lessons. These materials will be game changing for our lessons and instructional units in adapted physical education class. Additional materials to build clear and easy to follow obstacle courses will help students gain body awareness, coordination, ad exploratory skills. Also, these materials will allow for more direction to be given to tasks within the obstacle courses. Lastly, the Successballs will aid in children with orthopedic or muscular impairments to be more successful visually tracking a ball in the air and catching them with their hands/body. Students confidence to practice catching and throwing will increase by using these adapted sport balls- and they are soft to the touch for sensory sensitive students!
