My students need an organized and inviting classroom. Items such as a label maker, pencil sharpener, and bright decorations will create a welcoming environment that shows we are ready to learn!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a small section of intervention classes in a personalized learning program. This year I am moving to a classroom from a small, shared office. I always had to search for places to hold small groups. Many times we ended up using the library, another teacher's classroom during their conference period, the cafeteria, or the hallway. This year, I have a classroom just for interventions!
A welcoming learning environment eases student frustration and builds a sense of belonging that connects them to the school.
My goal is to create a classroom that feels open and comfortable with struggling students. I want their focus to be on learning, not on finding supplies or a place to learn. By helping students connect to a learning environment, these intervention students will feel safe enough for to be reflective learners who focus on educational progress rather than educational struggles.
My Project
Creating a classroom from scratch is stressful. Being a student in an intervention classroom is stressful. When my students walk into my classroom, I want them eager to be here. They deserve a welcoming learning environment! Items such as a label maker, pencil sharpener, and bright decorations will create a welcoming environment that shows we are ready to learn!
I believe that creating a supportive classroom will lend to student success.
I want students to walk into my classroom and see that they are respected and supported. I think that students will feel safe when they see the investment that went in to growth mindset posters, matching decorations, and organization stations. They will know that I will do whatever I can to help them!
