My Students
My students come from all different backgrounds and experiences, but the one thing that makes them the same is their love for learning. I teach 4th graders in a Title 1 school. The majority of my students in my classroom have free/reduced lunch which pose difficulties when getting the supplies they need for everyday learning.
Despite these difficulties they make an effort to be here everyday to access their education and be in a safe and secure environment where they know that someone will appreciate and challenge them to be the best that they can be.
My Project
Every Friday we do Fun Friday Activities in my classroom. My students can't wait for Friday; for the chance to play and work. They love seeing their improvement in their skills!
These games promote teamwork, socialization and excitement.
They will help students practice the skills they have learned once they have finished their work. The games are fun and interactive and keeps their focus.
It allows them be "tricked" into learning through practice instead of just doing busy work or extra worksheets. I do small group work in my room during math and reading and run a "workshop," so students get a to learn in a variety of ways and practice based on who their individuality.
The light filters and document camera will help students be able to be in calming environment where they can see examples and show their work to others in the classroom. The stools will help students be able to comfortably work around the classroom without having to move desks or chairs to new locations.
