My students need an Apple Watch to show them how to code and create apps for Wearable devices. Wearable devices are the present and future. Help me prepare them for the jobs of tomorrow.
My students are amazing. We are located at the top of Mississippi in the fastest growing school district. We are in a low income district which makes supplies harder to come by for my students.
My students come from different ethnic backgrounds.
Their unique backgrounds bring an exceptional and interesting cultural diversity to my classroom. I love teaching these diverse students. Each one is amazing.
My students are the next generation of doctors, lawyers, teachers, politicians and any other job they desire.
My Project
In my school, through the help of Donors Choose we have created an App Design class. In our class, students learn how to code Apps for Mobile Devices and Tablets using MIT App Inventor. They learn how to use Android Studio and Java to learn textual style coding for Android. In App Design 3 which is new this year, students will learn to code in XCode using Swift. Having students being able to code for tablets and phones has given them real world experience and started them on a path to be the next great coders of our future. To take learning to the next level, I am requesting both an Apple wearable device so they can now code apps for Apple Watches. Only a few thousand people currently are actually coding for Apple Watches because this is such a new phenomenon. I want to give my high school students the opportunity to join the few professionals across the world who currently code for Apple Watch during this school year. This project would give my students an experience no other high school student in America would currently have. The ability to code and create apps for both Apple Watch like fitness apps, and other apps from their original creativity would be tremendous. I smile when I think of the potential. We could develop something that could change the world. Help me to help my students change the world
