Help me give my students the best possible scenario for remote learning. With a dual monitor, I can present on one screen and screen students on the other!
Our students come from middle-class suburbia. We're located in a small town in northeast Ohio where Friday nights mean walking to the local cafe after school to enjoy a chocolate chip cookie and football. It's a town steeped in tradition, and our kids attend school in the same building that William McKinley graduated from and Ida Tarbell taught in.
Our students and athletes are adaptive and embrace the uniqueness of our school.
They take pride in their community and actively seek ways to make the community more inclusive.
My Project
With the ability to have dual monitors while teaching long distance, I will be able set up my students for success in their distance learning.
A few additional things, like a second monitor, can help make Zoom classes run a lot more smoothly and efficiently for students. While working long distance, the dual monitor will be a great tool for our student learning.
I keep an eye on kids in Zoom on one screen while taking attendance on a Google doc and managing other programs like Nearpod, an interactive presentation app, simultaneously on the other.
In addition, students will benefit from my being able to attend to their needs, such as a raised hand or asking questions. Sometimes with distance learning, sharing a screen, it is difficult to attend to their needs at the same time. When you have many students in the group and then they are writing in the chat box or raising their hand, it is important to be able to see them all.
