What I love most about my students is their diverse learning abilities and how they work hard to meet their potential. My students having varying degrees of vision loss and some also have additional complications. What makes them special is that they don't let their disabilities define them and continue to strive towards their dreams. The students I'm targeting with this project have strong desires to be part of the workforce after graduation. Statistically, blind adults are the most underemployed demographic in the workforce so helping my students develop skills that they can use for employment is vital.
My Project
Statistically, blind adults are the most underemployed demographic in the workforce so helping my students develop skills that they can use for employment is vital. To help support their learning, I'm creating Job Task boxes that target a variety of skills needed in the workforce. Students will be able to complete task boxes from home and record their activity to share with me.
Creating opportunities for students to practice a variety of job skills is essential to their future success.
This helps to develop the confidence in their own ability to perform tasks and then to advocate for themselves with potential employers. Let's all rally together to support these students endeavors to be everything that want and can be.
