My students are creative, thoughtful, full of questions, and eager to learn! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and read new materials in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
Many students in my classroom come from a variety of diverse backgrounds, both socio-economically and culturally, which offers an incredible opportunity to expand what we get to read every day.
Unfortunately, our funds don't allow for the updated material we'd like to have in the library.
My goal is to give my students access to materials that not only expand their enjoyment of reading but also cater to their needs as learners and explorers.
My Project
"Don't judge a book by its cover" - well, that's all my students do. While they know they're only going to be spending about 10 seconds looking at the cover, the cover is still the most visually pleasing part of their book-picking experience.
With these new books and clear bins, it is my goal to create a more visually pleasing elementary school library experience for my students.
I love to think of my library as a record store, flipping through books until we're intrigued. Let's face it, visuals help the book sell, and the students are my customers.
