Creating a Thinking Classroom

Help me give my students stand up white boards so we can fully implement the Thinking Classroom model and have a tool for student to show their thinking.

My Project

Cooperative Learning is a powerful teaching tool in helping kids to share their thinking and problem solving strategies. It also helps students to develop a greater understanding of concepts as they work together to solve given tasks and display their thinking on their whiteboards.

This style of learning using stand up whiteboards has shown to work especially well for Math.

I will be using them daily after I have taught a direct instruction lesson on a given topic. Next the students will then be given a problem to solve using the thinking classroom model framework as well as the cooperative learning partner practice strategy. Having the white boards stand up instead of laying flat allows easy group work access and also allows the teacher to see the work easier.

These whiteboards will be a valuable asset to our classroom learning.
