Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school community and staff are working really hard to build community and learning back up from some challenging past couple of years during the pandemic. Our district and school-wide goal of literacy is detrimental to student success. Our other school goal is building a culture and climate that students and staff feel safe and ready to learn in. We are working on these goals tirelessly through professional development.
My Project
The world of education is ever evolving. The past couple years this has been especially true with the pandemic. Our district has been providing wonderful professional development opportunities in our goals of literacy and school climate. Many students and families were majorly impacted by the pandemic. Our school is choosing to focus specifically on literacy and social emotional learning. Our district is offering many wonderful and enriching opportunities for teachers to attend. However, often these trainings are outside of school hours and make for long, tiring days.
Having an air fryer is the first step in creating a professional development lounge, the next steps will be to add more amenities and create a space where teachers will want to gather to eat easily accessible healthy snacks to maintain energy while putting focus on bettering ourselves.
Please help make this dream a reality for teachers at our school site.
