My Students

My students are enthusiastic learners who demonstrate needs in many academic areas as well as in the areas of social and emotional skills. They possess many different abilities and have great potential. They demonstrate success when they are provided individual supports in the classroom.

Although their successes may look different from many students, it is very important that they experience that feeling of accomplishment and a vision for their future.

They require structure, consistency and a safe, comfortable place for learning. They also possess the best smiles, strong creativity, so much kindness and a huge amount of grit. They are giving, helpful and loyal to a fault. I am so fortunate to be able to spend my days learning from them.

My Project

Many of my students come from very low economic backgrounds. Several have family members that have lost their jobs during the pandemic and are now are living in camping trailers with several other family members.

Using the beanbag chairs and floor seats, I would like our classroom to be a safe and comfortable place for learning.

I would like my students to be able to have a place that feels like their very own where they can have significant and positive learning experiences. I would like a classroom environment that best fits their unique learning styles and needs.
