I am a pre-kindergarten Education Coach in a low-income school district. I am the education coach for 11 pre-k classrooms throughout our district. All of the students receive the free lunch program provided by our district. The wonderful 3, 4, and 5 year old students that I coach live in the city of Pittsburgh. Despite what is going on in their community, the students are learning how to be caring, responsible, respectful, and educated young children.
I love the students' enthusiasm for learning everyday.
The classrooms that I am in are a safe place that provides students with hands-on educational experiences that allow them to develop their thoughts into actual projects. Each classroom has had hands-on play centers for one hour of our school day because that is how young children learn best! I have noticed through the years that students are struggling with their own self-control. I would like to provide my students with a Cricut machine and materials that will allow them to create a sensory path that we can place on the floor and they can use it when they need a break from the daily classroom activities.
My Project
The students and I will create a sensory path using a Cricut Maker machine. They will be able to customize their sensory path with a variety of vinyl designs, letters, and numbers and then I will place their designs on the floor and wall where the students will be able to use the sensory path when they need a break from their daily activities.
It will allow them to get their bodies moving in a positive fun way!
The sensory path will be created especially by the students for them to use it daily. They are going to love it!
