This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My students are eager, happy, and ready to take on another year of learning. This year I will be teaching a diverse group of students. We will focus on trying new things and exploring all aspects of learning. With the hands-on materials, students will put learning into their own hands and achieve newfound respect for learning and engaging with each other. Students will be encouraged to be good citizens through their school-to-home communication folder.
I would like to provide my students with supplies that they will use on a daily basis, as well as supplies that will be used to create activities and games for them to play.
The games will help to differentiate instruction for my ESOL students. I would like my students to feel happy and comfortable in the class and know they have everything they need to learn. I do not want them to feel like they are missing out on anything, due to circumstances they cannot control. The students I have been honored to meet and teach at my school are extraordinary humans. They need anything and everything to help with their journey in life.
Using the individual floor mats, the students can move around and collaborate or read by themselves in a comfortable area.
This project is intended to provide students with a nurturing and safe environment. The classroom will also have a sense of organization, which allows classroom activities and work to flow smoothly.
