Help me give my students develop healthy coping mechanisms for the stress of the life and the classroom. This will allow them to function better in a chaotic world, and develop the self awareness needed to grow.
We are a robust classroom of 25 beautiful growing minds. We have a love of learning with hands on projects and materials. The students in this classroom are developing into self motivated and directed learners that bring learning outside the school, and into their homes.
We are a school of rich diversity.
We are an fully inclusive classroom allowing students to work beside a diverse swath of ability, need, and strength. Our classroom includes students on 504s and IEPs, students that are English Language Learners, and students with emotional trauma. We believe in a classroom that meets students needs where they are and gives every student what they need to make growth.

My Project
I am working to develop a sensory toolbox to meet the needs of my students. Many of my students have trauma in their backgrounds and we are hoping to help them develop a self care space where they can process the many emotions, moods, and thoughts that can sometimes crash their natural coping abilities.
My dream for this space is to teach students about themselves and develop their introspection abilities.
This space will allow students to self select from a range of tools to identify, process, and care for the different moods and thoughts that arise in daily life.
