Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
What motivates you? My students deserve to be rewarded for their effort and behavior in the classroom! Help me reward my "Wise Owls" as they begin a new school year.
My classroom is made up of 18 amazing learners!
They come to class ready to learn despite the obstacles they face prior to stepping foot in the classroom. We are a Title I school, and almost all of my students are English Language Learners. My students love coming to school because I make learning fun!
My Project
In my classroom, students earn special tokens for following classroom expectations and for working hard. Once students earn 6 tokens, they can come to my classroom store. The store has prizes and coupons that students can receive. Some of the coupons include extra computer time, wearing a hat in the classroom, using a special writing tool to complete their assignments, and their favorite... sitting with our classroom "pet" owl named Newton.
I'm requesting tokens and special writing tools for students to use in the classroom. Some of the special tools include Smencils, which is a scented pencil and colored dry-erase markers. In my classroom, we often use dry-erase markers and boards during whole group and small group instruction. Students get really excited when they get to use a special colored marker instead of a black marker! This really motivates students to be ALL IN!
Finally, I'm requesting stamps, scented markers, and stickers to use as extra positive reinforcements.
These materials will help build a positive learning environment for my students to learn.
It will also help motivate my students to keep working hard. When everyone is ALL IN, amazing learning takes place.
