My school is made up of a racially, economically, linguistically, and culturally diverse group of middle school students who are passionate about using technology in the classroom and eager to have teachers who integrate technology effectively into their instruction.
Although my school is historically low-performing, the administration, staff, and students are committed to changing perceptions, breaking barriers, fostering growth, and achieving our goals.
With your help, we can continue our growth by fostering a professional environment of collaboration and learning in which teachers master the technological tools and strategies needed to help our students be successful.
My Project
Dark, bare walls. Mismatched, uncomfortable seating. Cramped tablespace. Wasted potential. Located between the media center and the server room, the technology office at our school is far from a conducive environment for collaboration. The technology office has great potential, but it is far from a usable space in its current form.
When teachers grow, students grow, and with your help, we can turn an underutilized space into one dedicated to professional development and collaboration, which will be led by our instructional technology facilitator and will be focused on improving teacher and student use of technology in the classroom.
With new furniture, we can quickly and easily create a workspace that can adapt to our needs and provide an environment for collaborative group discussion, lecture-based instruction, computer-based work, and more.
