Creating a Mindfulness Classroom and a Love of Reading!
Help me give my students clipboards and books which will inspire a love for reading! These books will also help students develop mindful minds, self regulating and self soothing skills that will improve their general health.
My classroom consists of 22 students with ELD levels four and five, special education and general education students with diverse backgrounds. My students are deeply affected by poverty, which flows into their classroom environment. They love to read and learn with a creative approach!
Impacting students’ lives so that they will become successful citizens in the future should be the goal of all teachers.
I have been teaching for many years, and the love I have for my job and the students stays deep within my heart.
Unfortunately, our class lacks basic classroom materials such as guided reading books for multi-levels, crayons, and technology etc. When you walk into our classroom, you will find an environment that is warm and inviting. Students come in with smiles and are ready to learn. Making a difference in the lives of our students is key! The students in front of me participate in lessons with excitement. They are not afraid to speak up even if their answer is incorrect. The students bring their diverse culture and knowledge into the classroom allowing all to learn from one another!
My Project
These books chosen for this project will help our students attain a calm mind and a love of reading. Activities and lessons will be made easier with the help of our new clipboards!
Mindfulness is the key to help students acquire skills that will assist them in their everyday lives.
Teaching these skills with the books that you will donate will promote a calm classroom for all students with different levels of emotional, social and academic needs.
Students will be able to focus on mindfulness skills with these beautifully illustrated books. Visuals for our young students can enlighten their world of emotions and help them attain a key to a healthier life! Thank you for your donation.
