My students need chart paper, pencils, dry erase markers and other materials for student-centered activities and stations.

My school is an all-girls free and public charter school that focuses on building equipped scholars who will be prepared to enter and succeed in the university and the college of their choice. Our focus is to allow our female scholars to learn in an environment that understands that girls are intelligent, beautiful, and talented.
My girls are some of the most unique, motivated, creative, intelligent, and enthusiastic scholars that I have taught in my career.
I would consider the 2016-2017 school year to be a great success. We made great improvements in data, including an increase in Georgia Milestone end of the year testing exams and attendance. My school is growing with increased interest from the community. We are assisting in the academic and character building of our scholars to provide our Nation with leaders. Our scholars are special because their awareness and understanding that they are accountable for their success.
I teach 7th and 8th-grade math and most importantly, I develop their analytical and critical thinking skills within a 90 minute period. I instill in them that girls rock and they can be great mathematicians!
Math instruction should be delivered to reach all students. I have pledged to move away from teacher-centered instruction and develop a student-centered classroom. I want the students to be the focus in my classroom to increase engagement and application of mathematical standards. Chart paper, chart markers, colored paper, and scissors will allow the scholars to use their creativity on visuals, anchor charts, and concept development. These hands-on activities will increase the use of rich math discussions with peers and increase their interest in math.
Students are curious, eager to learn, and excited about new challenges.
Becuase we have all female scholars, it is important to tune into their creativity and use bright colors to increase their focus. I need these materials to create a better student-centered classroom that allows them to become independent, confident, and take charge of their education.
These materials will assist my students in completing their math task and centers. The pencils and sharpeners are much-needed tools for math. The colored pencils allow the girls to color code items for notes and learning. The scholars will be able to create anchor charts to summarize and develop concept knowledge. Scholars will also be able to create visuals and projects to improve understanding math standards.
