I have an amazing bunch of learners in my classroom. These kids are inspiring, hard working, and determined. They have such a desire not only to learn more, but to help their classmates do the same!
Despite many of them having extremely difficult home lives, they come to school every day with a great attitude and a hunger for learning.
Their resiliency inspires me every day.
My students are an inquisitive bunch who crave knowledge and have very individual personalities and interests. They love to read, explore science topics, and problem solve their way through math!
My Project
My students rock! We are slowly gaining a love for reading as we make our way through the year, but our library could use an update! Many of our books are old and in bad shape from years and years of use, or just don't apply to my students anymore. We have so many interests that my library doesn't cover, and I hope to expand it to include something for everyone! My students would love to see more nonfiction, specifically about animals and coding. We are super into graphic novels and the Erin Hunter series.
Many of the books on this list are requests from my students- they want to continue reading their favorite series more than anything!
Something else we are hoping for is a good place to read- our desks and chairs can get so uncomfortable! I have included lots of different comfortable seating options for silent reading, as well as some flexible seating options for their desk chairs. I have a lot of fidgeters who would really benefit from these options and can't wait to see them in action!
