My Project

During the COVID-19 pandemic, my students have faced significant challenges due to the lack of in-person learning. Many struggled with the transition to remote education, experiencing a disconnect from teachers and peers, leading to feelings of isolation and reduced motivation. This shift also exacerbated educational inequalities, as students with limited access to technology or a conducive learning environment faced even greater obstacles. The requested resources at DonorChoose will directly address these issues by providing essential tools and support to enhance both academic learning and overall well-being. For example, funds could be used for flexible seating like a standing desk or fun bouncy bands on the seats for kids that need to move & tablets to bridge the digital divide, ensuring equitable access to educational resources. Fun colorful lights create a homey and inviting environment for kids to feel at home & relaxed in the classroom. Additionally, they could be used to fund toys and games, mental health resources, or extracurricular activities, promoting both academic progress and emotional well-being among students affected by the pandemic. These resources will play a crucial role in helping students recover from the setbacks caused by COVID-19 and thrive in their educational journey.
