My students need a more inviting space in the library to read. I want my students to enjoy reading and having a comfortable spot will encourage them to do so!
Promoting independent reading is a key factor of our library. I want students to be excited to pick up a new book.
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." - Dr. Seuss
My students are in grades K through 6 and are always eager to read new materials when they come into the library.
With a world that is turning to constant testing and structured learning time, students seek times when they can relax and read independently. Having a comfortable and inviting area will allow them to do so in a safe environment!
My Project
These materials will drastically change the dynamic of the library while encouraging students to pick up a good book. Having a comfortable spot that is inviting to students is important to encourage literacy. They will learn the importance of reading independently and will hopefully fall in love with reading.
Donations for this project will greatly improve our school library.
Students will enjoy reading again and will be eager to read a book in the comfortable new reading area.
"Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his needs, is good for him."
—Maya Angelou
