My students are very fun, energetic and motivated First Graders! They come to school so eager to learn and experience new things. For many of them school is the most consistent part of their life and it is a place where they feel safe and loved. Most of my students do not have any of their own school supplies or books to read when they are at home. They love being read to and when we have guest readers in our classrooms.
My Project
Funding my project will build a wonderful classroom library for my students so that each student can choose a book to read that not only interests them, but is at their correct reading level. Many of my students do not have any books to read from at home and this library would allow them to check out books to take home and read with their family members. This wide range library of books would help different leveled readers in my classroom to have books that meet their individual learning needs. It is so important for children to learn to love reading at a young age and so many are falling behind due to not having access to books they love!
