Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of my incredible students consider school a safe, fun place where they were comfortable. When we went into quarantine they had to adjust their definitions and understanding of safe, fun, and comfort. As students have returned from online learning throughout the school year, they have had to change that understanding yet again and the return to former expectations has not been easy. I want to be a second home for my students, somewhere that they can be themselves and live up to their fullest potential.

Many students have struggled with the transition from learning virtually in the comfort of their own homes to orderly accommodations (desk and chair) of in-person learning.

I hope that the furniture and school supplies that I am requesting will help make the continued transition to in-person learning a bit easier. The floor seats, pillow chair, and yoga ball will all give students the opportunity to get comfortable while they learn. The lap desks and whiteboards will allow my students to complete work and interact with each other while using the flexible seating. My students are incredible kids and deserve the absolute best, please help me give this to them. Thank you!
