My Students

This fall I will have the pleasure of teaching a full inclusion classroom with 21 students.

My future students are an energetic, inspiring, and motivating group of 7 and 8-year-olds ready to tackle 2nd grade. Students will learn academic and social skills throughout the year that are essential to their growth and development. As a first-year teacher, I cannot wait to meet my students. I am so excited to inspire them to love learning and allow them to inspire me.

My Project

The gift of a classroom rug will allow a sense of community in our room. In the morning we will gather here, greet one another, and discuss our day ahead. During reading, we will sit on the rug and listen to read alouds. In math, we will use the rug to engage in number talks. During these talks, students will learn how to listen to their classmates, challenge their classmates thinking, and think about math in a variety of ways. This rug will be the center of our classroom. Having a large comfortable rug will allow our classroom to feel like a home.
