Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are in an 18 Plus program and work on various skills such as vocational, social, life skills and recreation and leisure skills. This group is an amazing group of "young adults". They get very excited learning the importance of keeping themselves healthy through exercising and physical activity. Many of them have set goals to exercise on a regular basis. This is an exciting challenge for many of them as this has never been a way of life for them. Thanks for helping us become healthier during these times.
My Project
By donating to our project you are helping our students with special needs begin on a path to a healthier lifestyle. Our students will be able to feel the benefits of a healthier lifestyle when they exercise on a regular basis. Our recreation room needs safe and appropriate equipment that is designed to support students that possibly have an orthopedic handicapping condition or might weight up to 300 lbs. I have seen how the students are already enjoying physical fitness activities that they have never explored before. With your support they will look better and feel better, thus living more productive lives.
