Creating a Diversified Classroom Library

Help me give my students a diversified library that better reflects themselves while also introducing them to the contributions of people from other cultures.

My Project

As a person who loves to read, I strive to instill the love of books into my students! Last year, after virtual instruction, I noticed that the students missed REAL BOOKS- they were not interested in reading virtual copies. They wanted to hold actual physical books! So I started to build a library with books that would draw them in even more. I want to include both fiction and nonfiction stories that students can connect to.

There is nothing like holding a book in your hand and diving in.

Please help me furnish my 5th grade urban classroom with books the students will be excited to read! My intelligent, wonderful students deserve to read graphic novels, books about inspiring people, and intense stories about events and people who have shaped our world.

Thank you so much for considering my project. This project has my heart, as do my students, and I would be so grateful for your help in continuing to build a rich library! Reading is, after all, the basis for a lifetime of learning.
