My students need these resources to develop reading/comprehension skills. These resources will allow our class to work in small groups in order to better meet the student needs.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My journey in education is just starting. I am developing a special bond with my students, as some of them have faced similar disadvantages and have found themselves relocated to my classroom. Over 86% of my scholars speak another language which makes our classroom a magical place to learn. I want the best from and for my students in their academic pursuits. However, faced with the challenges at hand, our classroom is in dire need of basic learning resources.
My Project
In my goal to meet my students needs, I have to work with them in small groups and provide them with resources they can use in order to develop reading/comprehension skills. These resources will give my students the opportunity to work with "hands-on" and engaging activities.
This school year, differentiation will be the key to our success.
The variety of resources that we are asking for will for sure help us to work with each student need, whether that is phonemic awareness, fluency or comprehension. We'll use the "Touch and read CVC" to improve student's reading skills. While the "Comprehension Quickie set" will allow students to take comprehension to the next level and work with close reading strategies as well. There is something for everybody. Therefore, having these materials in our classroom will help us to achieve our goal for this year.
