I teach Creative Foods and Nutrition along with Culinary Arts and Hospitality Careers. My students are amazing. Hard working and dedicated. They love to come to school to cook. For some of them it makes their day. They love to be in the kitchen and with a hybrid schedule and a cut budget, it's tough to keep up with demand of food. I am trying to suppliment my budget to only buy food and reach out to vendors and sponsors to help me out in other ways. My students deserve to have the best equipment and the best opportunity to create any dish they desire. I want to teach as many students as I can a great life skill they will use forever. Not just making high end food, but simple, cheap and nutritious food they can depend on when they need it. I am here to help them develop into to good human beings.
My Project
These donated items will go to a great home where they will be utilized to the fullest extent. The products I am asking for are every day equipment needed by a professional chef. I want to inspire my students that people care about their education and that they are worth the time and effort we put into them. I want my students to feel safe and secure in my classroom.
Giving them the tools that will keep them busy in the kitchen and cooking is my goal.
I know my students will appreciate the donations and grow as cooks. They will grow as humans to become the adults we need in this world.
I know this equipment will be put to good use as soon as we get it. The spatula we are using now are from the dollar store and falling apart. All of the cookware we have is old, dirty, scratched or broken. I am looking to improve the equipment my students use to further their progress. When they have tools that work, they can accomplish anything.
