This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My student are very creative and energetic. I teach art to grades k-5 estimating about 550 students. Each class averages about 28 students. They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions!

Our school is located in the heart of Petersburg, Va.

Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. I am so lucky and thankful to enter a new school year with my students!

My Project

With your donations you will be impacting the lives of students and helping them create Art in a positive learning environment! They are easier to put onto the tables in the evening so the cleaning crew can get to my floors easier. We currently have the regular plastic chairs, in which some are broken. I do have to remind kids that they are not rocking horses.

I prefer stools because it screams "art studio." I believe the stools will take up less room in from already crowded space.

The stools will be used by all the students at our school and make a huge difference!
