The students that I teach are an incredible group of kids. They are hard workers and always eager to try new ideas to benefit their learning. Our students come from a low income community. Our school is both a STEAM school and a Title I school.
Our students passions are incredible and invigorating.
They work hard, put forth great effort, and are always eager despite lacking in resources. Their potential is amazing. Many of my students are ESOL students, many of whom were displaced from Hurricane Maria, I am hoping to better meet their needs through the use of individual technology. These kids are amazing and driven. Given the right tools they could be unstoppable. Please help them obtain the tools they need.
My Project
Flexible seating is a recent development in education. The idea behind it is that students learn best when you take away distractions like being uncomfortable. My goal is to have a classroom where flexible seating is available for all students.
As we all know we process information better when we are comfortable.
It is far easier to read a book when you are in a comfortable position. Why shouldn't our students have those options as well?
Since Hurricane Maria we have had an influx of students from Puerto Rico. That means that our class has become crowded and we have run out of desks. These two tables will allow for more seating options for all of our students. Every student should have a comfortable place to sit.
This rectangular tables will allow students to either sit or stand while learning. Meanwhile, the options for seating will allow for a variety of choices. Students should have ever opportunity to avoid simple distractions. These different kinds of flexible seating will help to remedy that.
