Creating a Colorful and Cozy Corner in Our Classroom!

My students need a comfy and colorful learning rug to brighten up our classroom and make learning fun!

My Students

My students are first graders in a high poverty elementary school in Delaware. All my students have a wide range of abilities and include special education students.

My students love to learn, and I want to make learning fun and exciting for them.

They come to school every day ready to learn. They love to listen to stories, engage in literacy discussions, work collaboratively to solve math problems, and share their experiences through their writing. My students work very hard every day to master new skills and knowledge.

My Project

My students love to sit on the floor to learn and collaborate with their classmates. However, we have an old, dirty rug that needs to be replaced. The new rug which I am requesting will brighten up our classroom to create an inviting learning environment.

I don't believe that students should sit at desks all day long, so we would use this learning rug every day.

Having a new rug will allow my students to have a cozy place to sit and listen to stories, partner read, engage in discussions, and play math games. We would probably use it more than our desks! Having the colorful shapes and colors on the rug will allow us to use it for many fun learning games, too. The possibilities are endless!
