This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
This fall I will be teaching mathematics to two groups of 14-15 Kindergartners totaling in around 30 students. I am beyond excited to meet each group with a warm and welcoming environment. I especially love this age because the students have so many interests and hidden strengths waiting to emerge! Each student has their individual ability level and I am ready to create lasting connections with them and their families!
My Project
The materials listed will aid me in teaching my kindergarten students the necessary math standards in a variety of ways. I am aware that students learn differently when it comes to needing visuals, auditory lessons, or even hands on materials.
The materials listed will allow me to create an environment in which I can reach each students at their ability level individually.
I am a recent graduate and a first time teacher, so I am starting off with nothing at all except for a few books. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. I am beyond excited to start the year off right with a classroom that will feel safe and be a constant for my students post pandemic.
