My Project

As a 9th grade English teacher, one of my goals is to support students in building reading stamina. A great, research-based, way to do this is independent reading. As I have implemented and instituted sustained silent independent reading in my classroom, I have been working on creating a classroom library from which students can select books to check out and read. I am requesting a diverse set of books for our classroom library written by authors of many different backgrounds. I teach a diverse set of students who range across race, class, immigration status, gender, and much more. Your donation will help me create a library that reflects this diversity.
