Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I strive to provide all students with a quality education that will provide them with the skills they need to succeed not only in school but in the workforce as well. My students work hard and make great strides each year in school, and they keep pushing forward. From high poverty levels to language barriers, my students rise above their challenges to become stronger, better-educated young adults. They strive to better themselves educationally because they know that their education will help them become more productive members of their communities.
The students who enter my classroom each year work hard to be the leaders of our school and exemplify what it means to be a student, learner, and child.
We work to not only grow our minds but also our personalities and friendships. As we continue to grow our brains, we must continue to grow our hearts and the world we live in. We research and develop our understanding of the world we live in, and how it was influenced by the past.
My Project
With the recent events in our world, I am hoping to bring my students a bit of stability and safety by setting up a virtual classroom. With the virtual classroom, I will be able to continue teaching my students through various platforms (recorded lessons & readings) and as time continues, classroom meetings. Many of my students lack the technology to participate in digital classrooms, so being able to set up a classroom where I can record and post lessons on to a digital platform they are familiar with, will help them continue learning and keep some structure to their days.
Many of my students are already performing behind grade level and a set back this long could create an even bigger learning gap.
By providing lessons and structure to their day can help them continue to develop academically and socially and keep them connected to their classroom and classmates.
