Help me give my students a calming environment and creative ways to engage in therapy while meeting sensory needs! My students are responding really well to play therapy and bibliotherapy but we are limited on supplies.
My students are part of a brand new program that offers a smaller space for students who struggle with emotional, behavioral and cognitive challenges. My students are resilient and creative and respond well to play therapy! Despite past negative school experiences, my students show up everyday ready to work hard and always try their best. My students are excited to be apart of a smaller environment where their individual needs are being met in ways they haven't been met before.
My Project
My students are in need of some therapeutic tools to help them engage in therapy successfully. My students enjoy using puppets to engage in therapy to process and problem solve! My students also enjoy getting lost in stories and learning from characters but we are in need of books that correspond with counseling themes. My students have sensory needs and will benefit from weighted neck wraps and soft realistic pets to help calm and deescalate. Games are creative way to teach and practice problem/coping skills while engaging with peers positively. These supplies will provide new ways for students to engage in counseling and with their peers while learning and growing individually.
