Help me give my students these great books that focus on multicultural events, girl power, and the 3-D doodler materials to help us bring to life the characters they read about in the books.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
A diverse group of students including English language learners with more than 95% of our students receiving free or reduced lunch.
Some of our students from multi-cultural backgrounds struggle with reading, and some come to school with social or emotional needs, but all of them are great kids who want to learn, love their teachers, and know that being successful in school is essential to future success.
They need literature that deal with real world problems and diverse, interesting characters that look and feel like them in everyday life.
My Project
The children love to create, and this year, in our library, we have been reading stories and doing follow-up activities where we create something that connects to the story. We have 3-D doodler pens, and the children will make items that go along with the stories they read using the 3-D doodler pens. This hands-on activity brings a new dimension to children who may be struggling with comprehension.
It makes reading fun when you bring the characters and the events to life through 3-D projects.
. The books chosen are some favorites that need replacing, but also some new books that explore multi-cultural topics. Through exposure to a wide range of literature the children get to explore new avenues of learning.
