Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom encompasses 25 amazing first graders who emphasize diversity, uniqueness, and resiliency each and every day.
My students come from a city filled with culture and pride, but poverty and various forms of violence are all too common in their everyday lives.
Our school strives to create change and to help these students become better individuals through education and building community. I am truly lucky to be a part of my students’ lives. They inspire me each and every day.
My Project
My students would be able to use the Cricut machine for several purposes. They can create titles and designs for group projects on topics like animal research for informative writing. They can create individualized behavior charts that would be used on a daily basis to communicate with their families. Also, they can create flashcards to help with letter names and sounds recognition, high-frequency words, and number sense. My amazing 1st graders enjoy being hands on so what a great resource to have in the classroom! We have so many exciting activities coming before the school year ends. With a Cricut machine, the students are given the opportunity to be crafty and use their imagination to create a colorful and creative classroom and display their work for all to see! The possibilities are endless with a Cricut machine! Thank you for taking the time to read about our project.
